Runswick Bay

Perched right on the coast is beautiful village of Runswick. There are lovely views from the hotel at the top of the hill right across the bay. A very steep road leads down to the car park or you can walk down an equally steep footpath into the village. There are lovely narrow streets to discover and a pub set right in the middle of all the idyllic houses.

Runswick Bay is a good area for fossil hunting. Ammonites can be seen in some of the old rocks at the sea shore and you can try to discover fossils in the tumbling cliff rock.
