The Yorkshire Dales contain some of the most magnificent scenery in England.

The Yorkshire Dales are everyone's idea of peace and tranquility. The dales are an unspoilt region with small towns and villages which seem to be from a bygone age. The buildings are full of charm and usually have interspersed tea rooms and craft shops.

Although the countryside is ideal for walkers there is so much else to do in the area. There are colourful local markets in many of the towns and castles and abbeys, steam railways, historic houses and magnificent gardens all open to the public.

There are plenty of activities in the Yorkshire Dales too - everything from hot air balloons to pot-holing.
