Pateley Bridge





Pateley Bridge is a small town set around a steep hill. It is the main crossing place of the river Nidd and has small shops and tea-rooms.

Nearby, at Lofthouse,  is the spectacular How Stean Gorge. A ravine in the limestone which is 80 feet deep in places. Visitors can cross the gorge on one of the three bridges or explore the cave.
