Knaresborough

Knaresborough North Yorkshire

Knaresborough is an interesting place with a huge viaduct spanning the river Nidd. It is most picturesque with breathtaking views of the Nidd gorge from the castle ruins. Knaresborough has many historic buildings, cobbled alleys and lovely riverside walks. Hire a rowing boat and take a trip on the river.

Knaresborough's castle ruins and gardens are perched in a commanding position above the Nidd and provide excellent views. Reconstructions of battles are sometimes held by local historic groups, with cannon and men in chain mail bearing ancient weapons, conveying much of the fervor of the time. Don't miss it.Knaresborough North Yorkshire
